Common questions

Asset management — answered.

The questions we hear most when towns are evaluating this module. Anything specific to your charter, your state, or your existing vendor — we'll answer on the discovery call.

01 How granular does asset tracking go? +
As granular as you want it. A single hydrant is an asset; a fleet of 47 vehicles is 47 assets; a 30-mile water main is one linear asset with segments. We work with your inventory granularity; we don't impose ours.
02 How do we score asset condition without an engineer? +
A simple 1–5 scale tied to inspection findings — excellent, good, fair, poor, critical — with descriptions per asset class. Crews score during PM inspections; the system computes replacement-year projections from condition trend.
03 Can we export the asset registry for a CIP application? +
Yes. CIP exports include asset inventory, condition, replacement value, and replacement year — formatted for the most common state CIP and federal grant application formats.
04 What if our asset list is currently in a spreadsheet? +
Spreadsheet imports are a standard part of onboarding. We help you map columns once; from then on, the registry lives in the platform with photos, attachments, and full history.
