Common questions

Cemetery management — answered.

The questions we hear most when towns are evaluating this module. Anything specific to your charter, your state, or your existing vendor — we'll answer on the discovery call.

01 How do we get the existing plot map into the system? +
One-time digitization during onboarding. We work from your existing plot map — paper, hand-drawn, or scanned — and produce a clickable interactive version. Existing deed and burial records import from spreadsheets or paper books.
02 How does the perpetual-care fund accounting work? +
Each plot sale allocates a portion to the perpetual-care fund per your policy. The fund tracks separately as a permanent fund in the GL with restricted/unrestricted balances. Annual reports show fund balance, contributions, and earnings.
03 Can families search for an ancestor's burial without calling the office? +
Yes. The public genealogy search lets residents search by name, year, or section to find a burial location. The result shows the plot location on the public-facing plot map. No more "can you check the leather book for my great-grandfather?"
04 What about headstone permits and regulations? +
Headstone permits flow through the permits module, configured for cemetery-specific rules — max dimensions, material restrictions, foundation requirements. Approvals tie back to the plot record so the cemetery file stays current.
