Annual renewal cycles for liquor licenses, food-vendor permits, food trucks, short-term-rental and home-occupation licenses, hawkers and peddlers. Distinct from building permits — yearly revenue, separate workflow, separate enforcement when expired.

Common questions

Business licensing — answered.

The questions we hear most when towns are evaluating this module. Anything specific to your charter, your state, or your existing vendor — we'll answer on the discovery call.

01 How does annual renewal handle our 200+ licenses? +
A bulk-renewal cycle runs each fiscal year. The system pre-fills renewal applications with prior-year data; businesses verify, pay, and submit. Inspections schedule automatically based on license type and last-inspection date.
02 What's the difference between business licensing and permits? +
Permits are one-time (build a deck, host an event); licenses are recurring (operate a restaurant, run a short-term rental). Different fee structures, different enforcement when expired, different reporting.
03 What happens to an expired license? +
The business gets warnings at 30, 60, and 90 days before lapse. Once expired, the system flags the license, notifies code enforcement, and queues the case for review per your enforcement policy.
04 Can residents and code officers search active licenses publicly? +
Yes. The resident portal includes a public license search by business name, address, or category — useful for residents checking that a contractor is licensed or that a short-term rental is registered.
