Common questions

Permits — answered.

The questions we hear most when towns are evaluating this module. Anything specific to your charter, your state, or your existing vendor — we'll answer on the discovery call.

01 Can residents pay permit fees online with a credit card? +
Yes. The resident portal accepts card and ACH through your town's merchant acquirer (we connect, we don't lock you in). Receipts post to the permit record automatically and to the GL through the Cash Receipting module.
02 How do plan reviewers mark up uploaded plans? +
Inspectors annotate PDFs inline with comments and shape markup. Each markup is timestamped and signed by the reviewer. Residents see exactly what changes are needed when they re-upload.
03 What happens when an inspector flags something during inspection? +
They mark the inspection as conditional with notes from the field tablet. The resident is notified by email or SMS. Permits don't issue until the conditional items are resolved.
04 Can we set up custom permit types — special-event, sign, fence? +
Yes. New permit types are template-defined: required fields, fee schedule, document checklist, inspection sequence, and approval workflow. We set up your common types during onboarding; you can add more anytime.
