Common questions

HR & payroll — answered.

The questions we hear most when towns are evaluating this module. Anything specific to your charter, your state, or your existing vendor — we'll answer on the discovery call.

01 How does the time clock work for field crews? +
Crews clock in from any browser — phone, laptop, or front-desk PC. Optional geofencing keeps crews honest about being on-site when they punch in. Time sheets aggregate by employee, pay period, and department.
02 Does it handle on-call premiums and shift differentials? +
Yes. Per-employee rules for on-call premiums (e.g., $X/hour standby), shift differentials (night/weekend), and overtime. Pay-run preview shows the breakdown line-by-line so the bookkeeper can review before processing.
03 What year-end forms does it generate? +
W-2s for employees, 1099s for vendors (in coordination with finance), 941 quarterly reports, 940 annual unemployment, ACA 1094/1095 for applicable-large-employer reporting. State retirement-system exports per your state's filing format.
04 How does payroll post to the general ledger? +
Pay run posts gross wages to the appropriate department salary line, deductions to liability accounts, and net pay to cash. Each pay period generates a single multi-line journal entry that the treasurer reviews and approves.
