Resident-facing giving page with fund picker, recurring option, and a live capital-campaign thermometer.

A town-branded giving page on the resident portal: pick a fund (parks, library, cemetery's perpetual-care endowment, beautification), give once or monthly, get a tax receipt. Money lands in the right Finance fund automatically. Where your town routes donations through an affiliated 'Friends of' 501(c)(3), the module supports that flow too — you decide which route each fund uses.

Common questions

Civic giving portal — answered.

The questions we hear most when towns are evaluating this module. Anything specific to your charter, your state, or your existing vendor — we'll answer on the discovery call.

01 Are donations to our town tax-deductible? +
It depends on the fund and the structure. Direct gifts to a municipality may be deductible under IRS §170(c)(1), but many towns route donations through an affiliated 'Friends of' 501(c)(3) for clarity and donor confidence. The module supports both — you decide which route each fund uses, and the tax receipt is generated accordingly. Donors are advised to consult their tax advisor.
02 Where does the money actually land? +
Direct gifts post to the town fund you designate in Finance — Parks, Library, Cemetery Perpetual Care, etc. Gifts to a 'Friends of' nonprofit post to that organization's reconciliation export. Either way, every donation is tied to a fund or campaign, and the GL reconciles automatically through Cash Receipting.
03 Can residents set up a recurring gift? +
Yes — monthly, quarterly, or annual. Donors can update or cancel from the resident portal without contacting your office. Annual tax receipts roll up all recurring gifts into a single year-end document.
04 Can we use this for a capital campaign? +
Yes. Campaign mode creates a time-bounded effort with a target amount, a goal thermometer, and a milestone update feed. Donors can give once or pledge over the campaign window. Useful for splash pads, fire engines, library renovations, or war memorials.
